Developmental Biology Center
The DBC is an interdepartmental Organized Research Unit of the University of California. Its goals are to understand the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying embryonic and postembryonic animal development, emphasizing the analysis of the cell interactions that control pattern formation, growth and morphogenesis. The DBC maintains facilities including the Optical Biology Shared ResourceChao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center
The Center is one of only 35 facilities nationwide designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI)Institute for Genomics and Bioinformatics
The UC Institute for Genomics and Bioinformatics (IGB) is dedicated to 1) fostering innovative basic and applied research in genomics and bioinformatics; 2) working with established companies, start-ups, government agencies, and standards bodies to develop and transition the technologies to widespread and practical application; 3) educating the next generation of computational biologists; and 4) supporting the public service mission of the University of California in developing the economic basis of the State of California.
